FIRE PROTECTION & LIFE SAFETY

The philosophy of life safety for buildings is based on

the principle of applying a number of provisions that

include the safety principle standards of the Saudi

Building Code (SBC) , the minimum of which must be

met, and among the applicable Local and national

standards for safety design.

 

 

SYSTEMS DESIGN

1.Life Safety Systems

BBEC  design and approve the life safety systems drawings to

evaluate compliance with the fire and life safety (FLS) provisions of

latest Saudi building codes (SBC) and related NFPA standards as well

as others applicable codes/standard or regulations.

  1. Fire protection systems design

Design and approve the fire protection systems drawings and

calculations to evaluate compliance with the fire and life safety (FLS)

provisions of latest Saudi building codes (SBC) and related NFPA

standards as well as others applicable codes/standard or regulations.

  • Firefighting system inducing fire pumps calculation and capacity .
  • Fire alarm systems.
  • Emergency lighting system.
  • Smoke evacuation system

 

 

 

 

SYSTEMS INSPECTION & TESTING

BBEC  (conduct/ conduct in a regular basis) on-site inspection

and witness the on-site testing for the fire protection and life safety

(FLS) systems according to the previously approved FLS materials

limitations to evaluate compliance with the SBC and applicable NFPA

standards requirements, scope of work may cover the following

systems but not limited to:

  • Life safety systems.
  • Firefighting system.
  • Fire alarm systems.
  • Smoke control system.
  • Emergency lighting system
  • Fire suppression system

 

AS-BUILT APPROVAL

BBEC review and approve all fire protection systems related

as-built drawings including the following:

  • Life safety plans.
  • Firefighting plans.
  • Fire alarm plans.
  • Emergency lighting and exit signs plans.

 

FLS COMPLIANCE CERTIFICATE

BBEC  eventually issue the compliance certificate which

ensure that all on-site installations have been accomplished

according to the approved FLS design and FLS materials in

compliance with the SBC and applicable NFPA standards

requirements.

EXISTING BUILDING / FACILITIES FLS

BBEC evaluates the actual situation to determine

compliance with FLS requirements, The scope of work

includes and is not limited to the following:

  • Actual situation evaluation and checking

compliance with the life safety requirement.

  • Fire protection systems evaluation through

inspection and testing.

  • FLS gap report including recommendations.
  • Means of egress requirements
